The Northwestern boys soccer team won a thriller in overtime to highlight Friday's scholastic sports action..



Northwestern defeted Notre Dame of Green Pond in a Colonial League game, 3-2. It took two halves and six minutes over overtime to decide a winner.

Goals for Northwestern were scored by Kyle Willis, JD Haaf, and Boston Furjanic. Brandon Ettl added two assists.


Palisades came out on top against Palmerton in a Colonial League game, 3-0.

Goals for Palisades were scored by Shane O'Donnell (2) and Jason Gehman.

Goals for Palisades were scored by Karla Keler (4), Callie Duliba (4), and Anna Robinson.


Weatherly-MMI Prep

Freeland MMI swept Weatherly in a non-league volleyball game, 25-15, 25-20, and 25-9.

Some standouts for Weatherly included Jess Ademezyk, Carlie Hinkle, and Kirsten Ursta. Ademezyk had one kill, six digs, and 12 blocks. Hinkle contributed six digs, two assits. Ursta added two kills, five digs, three blocks, and two aces.The Preppers JV team also swept Weatherly, 3-0.
