Last week crews at Tuscarora State Park plowed tons of sand back up to the beach after it had receded into the water over time. The task was part of a sand reclamation project to restore beaches. Today, park officials are hoping that heavy, driving rains of Hurricane Sandy and resulting run-off won't wash the sand back into the lake, negating the good done over the past several days.
