Carbon County Chairwoman MaryEllen Salerno issued the following statement Friday on the destruction of Romney-Ryan yard signs across Carbon County:

"Every year, hundreds of campaign workers throughout Carbon County make phone calls, knock on doors and put up yard signs to get out the vote for our Republican candidates and build enthusiasm for our campaign. Instead of campaigning in an appropriate manner, some individuals have resorted to stealing Romney-Ryan yard signs. This just shows that since President Obama doesn't have any new ideas to get our economy back on track, some of his supporters are prepared to put politics first, and the American people last. These petty tactics are unacceptable and I call on the Carbon County Democratic Party to denounce those who are stealing Romney-Ryan and other Republican yard signs throughout Carbon County."
