Highly decorated Christmas trees are currently on display at the Tamaqua Community Arts Center, 125 Pine Street. They were done as part of the Chamber of Commerce's Tree Trimming Contest coordinated by volunteer Kathy Schock. Among those taking part are Hometown Nursing Center, Tamaqua BPW, Tamaqua Xi Delta Omega Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, Tamaqua Education Association, Tamaqua Leo Club, Tamaqua Area Middle School, Tamaqua Cheerleaders, Tamaqua Youth Ministry, Nancy Kunkel and the MAGIC After-School program. Visitors are encouraged to stop at the community center and vote for your favorite tree. The trees will then be given to low income families in need of a Christmas tree.
