Compliance checks made

Published June 04. 2012 05:03PM

Members of the Allentown enforcement office of the state liquor control board conducted compliance checks in the Ashland-Shenandoah area of Schuylkill County, on May 18 between 4:30 and 11:30 p.m.

The age compliance checks were conducted at licensed businesses in the area stated.

The checks are conducted with the use of underage juveniles attempting to purchase alcohol while under the supervision of liquor agents.

Three of the establishments checked were found to be non-compliant. Non-complaint is defined as a licensed establishment that sold alcoholic beverages to underage individuals trained and supervised by the enforcement office agents.

Five establishments were found to be in compliance, meaning they refused to sell alcohol to the underage buyers.

Businesses in compliance were identified as The Ashland Grill and the Drunken Monkey Bar & Grill, both of Ashland; La Casita De Famila, M&T Take Outs, and Mary's Deli & Six Packs, all of Shenandoah.
