Health system's billing raises anger

Dear Editor:

I am absolutely livid at the billing department at our less than prestigious Blue Mountain Health System. I deplore incompetence especially when it comes to my fiances. I am fortunate to be able to pay my bills on time. ALWAYS, especially when they are received in a timely manner.

This week I received an invoice that was late, not a few months late, but from a service date of APRIL 11, 2011 - over a year ago. This incompetent system/individual received a payment from Medicare in May of 2011. Where did the audit process take place - in the trash or someone's desk?

If I were over a year late in making a payment this institution would be all over my tush with a collection agency trying to collect these funds. But now I am given a week to pay the bill with funds that I have not set in my budget. Yes, I will pay this invoice on time but someone needs to be accountable for a miscarriage of injustice and not swept under the rug.
