Published July 11. 2012 05:01PM

Emergency personnel and State Police were called to SR309 in Lynn Township after a tractor trailer traveled down an embankment. After smashing through about 80 feet of guardrail, the tractor trailer continued about 150 feet down the southbound embankment. Luckily, the tractor trailer managed to stay upright as it missed numerous trees during its journey into the thick woods. The tractor trailer belonged to Knight Transportation out of Phoenix, Ariz. It took a few hours for the towing company to retrieve the tractor trailer. Both north and southbound traffic were either detoured or temporarily closed during the recovery. State Police in Fogelsville are investigating. No information about the cause or condition of the driver were available from police as of press time.
