Owe school tax
Tamaqua Area School District filed suits against property owners who the district claims are delinquent in paying their school tax and seeks to place a judgment against the properties.. Suits were filed against the following:
Terry White, 275 Van Gelder Street, Tamaqua, and Tamela White, 7 Shylark Commons, Guldsboro, claiming $1,349.14 is owed on property at 275 Van Gelder Street, Tamqua.
Robert Allan Welker, 32 Keller Road, Hometown Village, Rush Township, claiming $1,761.72 is owed in school tax on the property.
Club being sued
The business men and women who dine at the Pottsville Club, 201 South 21st Street, Pottsville, better wear their heavy winter coats when they visit the club because it is being sued by Tobash Home Heating Inc., Route 61-South, Schuylkill Haven, which claims the club owes an oil bill for $19,232.70, plus interest and costs.
A bench warrant issued to bring Brandon D.Huff, 20, Schuylkill Haven, to court was lifted by Judge John E. Domalakes after a hearing and bail was set at $5,000 percentage cash with certain restrictions added. Huff must reside at 325 North Ninth Street, Reading and must not relocate without prior permission from court, must no possess nor consume alcohol beverages or illegal drugs, must retain employment, must attend all future court proceedings and pay $50 to the district attorney's office for cost of the bench warrant which was issued when he failed to pick a jury last April for his trial. He faces a charge of loitering and prowling in the area of North Second Street and Laurel Boulevard in Pottsville and faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernali when he lived in Saint Clair.
