Damages police car

A Summit Hill man was charged after he fought with police and damaged a police cruiser.

According to Summit Hill police, on March 22, at 7:04 p.m., police were dispatched to the Switchback Mini Market for an intoxicated male urinating in public.Upon arrival, police approached the man, identified as Michael Halvorsen, 32, of 34 E. Ridge St., Summit Hill, who was visibly intoxicated and yelling at an individual in the parking lot of the store. Police tried to calm down Halvorsen but he continued to be aggressive toward officers. He lunged at police and was taken into custody.After being put into the back of the police car, Halvorsen proceeded to kick out the rear window of the vehicle.He was charged with persistent disorderly conduct, open lewdness, institutional vandalism and public drunkenness.
