Crash probed near Tamaqua

Published April 17. 2012 05:01PM

A one vehicle crash was reported about 7 p.m. on Monday, April 17, along Wildcat Road in Walker Township, near Tamaqua.

State police at Frackville said a 17-year-old male from New Ringgold was operating a 2002 Chrysler Sebring southbound and negotiating a left curve when he said another vehicle entered his lane of travel.

The teen swerved his car off the road and onto the west berm. In attempting to re-enter the road the teen lost control by overcompensating, troopers said. The car then skidded through the northbound lane and struck an embankment with its front end.

The car then rolled over onto its roof and came to rest partially in the northbound lane facing northwest.

The driver and two passengers, a 17-year-old female from Tamaqua, and a 14-year-old male from New Ringgold, were all not injured.
