Summit Hill police issue citations

Summit Hill police have issued their most recent report:

Jonathan Moran, 20, of 263. E. Bertsch St., Lansford: At 12:03 a.m. Oct. 16, 2011, police stopped a vehicle on W. White Bear Drive. Inside were a number of people who had consumed alcohol, including Moran. because he was under 21, he was issued a citation for underage drinking.

Carmine Simeone, 34, of 3 E. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, Apt 5: At 6:45 p.m. Jan. 10, police got a report of an alleged assault, blaming another Summit Hill female for assaulting someone. Simeone told police the same thing, that an assault had happened, with one female assaulting another.

An investigation revealed that did not happen.

Simeone was charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

Catharine Miller, 59, of 14 E. White St., Summit Hill: At 10:30 p.m. Feb. 4, she was outside of the police department causing a disturbance with another person. She was warned repeatedly to stop.

Miller was charged with disorderly conduct.

Tony Stoeckel, 25, of 112 E. Garibaldi Ave., Nesquehoning: At 5:04 a.m., Dec. 14, 2011, police got a complaint about a vehicle running and a person sitting in it for a period of time.

Stoeckel was found intoxicated, sleeping in the vehicle with the engine running.

He was charged with driving under the influence.

Ricky Christman, 24, of 114 W. Fell St. Summit Hill: At 12:35 a.m., Feb. 11, police were called to that address, where they found Christman causing disturbance.

He was charged with disorderly conduct.

Austin Altemose, 18, of RR1, Kresge Farm Road, Effort: At 8:56 p.m., Feb. 25, police got a complaint from a female pizza delivery person. She was on West Walter St. when someone approached her from behind and grabbed the back of her arms and pushed her. The person ran into an alleyway.

An investigation revealed it was Altemose. He claims he was playing a joke on her. Police charged him with harassment.

Maretta McGeehan, 26, of 54 W. Holland St. Summit Hill: On Feb. 6, police were called to investigate an overdose at 128 W. Hazard St. McGeehan was taken to the hospital. An investigation revealed that she had taken medication not prescribed to her as well as other controlled substances.

She was charged with possession of controlled substances.

Nicole Lavoie, 35, of 221 E. McMurtrie St., Summit Hill: Police were called to that address for a possible overdose. While there, they saw medication that was not available by prescription to individuals.

Lavoie was charged with possession of controlled substances.

Amy Schlegel, 22, of 111 North Ave., Jim Thorpe: She was given notice against trespass, and was not allowed at the Lansford Townhouses. However, she was seen there on Jan. 23. Schlegel was interviewed by police, and denied being there.

However, an investigation produced witnesses who did see her there.

She was charged with defiant trespass, unsworn falsifications and false reports.

David Murray, 31, of 3 Paladin Drive, Wilmington, Delaware: At 7:35 p.m., March 11, he was in the area of E. White Bear Drive, near the Carbon County Environmental Education Center, a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped by police.

While on scene, he gave police a hard time and was charged with harassment.

At 7:14 p.m., March 8: Police were called to a house where a 14-year-old Summit Hill boy was causing a disturbance. He was charged with disorderly conduct.

At 7:10 p.m. March 15: A person reported a group of females in the children's park and that one was causing a disturbance. A 13-year-old Summit Hill girl was cited for disorderly conduct.

On Dec. 8, police got a report that a dirt bike had been stolen. An investigation revealed that two 15-year-old boys had taken it. One was from Summit Hill and the other was from Lansford.

They were charged with theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy to commit theft.
