Franklin Township police are investigating a home invasion which occurred Tuesday night along Fairyland Road.

Police were called to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willis V. Diehl of 2718 Fairyland Road near 9 p.m. when Mrs. Diehl reported a man entered her home and stole her purse.She first reported only one male entered and that he was brandishing a piece of wood in his hand.When police examined the scene they found a rear window broken and additional items taken from the home, which proved there was more than one intruder in the residence.Franklin Township police were assisted at the scene by police from Palmerton and Mahoning Township.A state police forensic unit also responded to aid in the investigation and gathering additional evidence.
