The Tamaqua Middle School Music Department will present its annual Holiday Music Program on Dec. 20 in the Tamaqua Area Auditorium.Featured performers will include the Sixth Grade Band and the Middle School Select and General Chorus.The Sixth Grade Band is directed by Marsha Rodgers and will be the opening act.The Middle School Choirs, which include the Select and General Choruses, are directed by John Buglio.The General Chorus will present the finale.The concert is free and open to the general public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m.Board of HealthThe December meeting of the Tamaqua Board of Health was held at the Tamaqua Municipal Building with Randolph Gormley, Shirley Becker, James Gormley, Earl Boettger and Health Enforcement Officer James Barron in attendance.Barron reported receiving and adjusting three complaints during the past month: two concerning trash/rubbish; and one possible infestation.There were no cases of reportable diseases for November.The board meets the first Tuesday of each month, at 11:30 a.m., in the Tamaqua Municipal Building.First UMThe Rev. James Cavallero will officiate at the 10:45 a.m. worship service this Sunday in First United Methodist Church.The service will include a cantata presentation by the chancel choir.Activities for next week will include: Tuesday, quilters meet at 9:30 a.m.; Wednesday, chancel choir practice at 7:30 p.m.Christmas services will include: candlelight service, 9 p.m., on Christmas Eve; "Noel Singstunde" at 10:45 a.m. on Christmas Day.St. John UCCThe Rev.
