Golden Agers

The meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers opened with a prayer and the reciting of God Bless America. Vice President Shirley Pavlick read a Thanksgiving message entitled "Thanksgiving Grace."There will be no meetings scheduled for January and February. The next scheduled meeting will be March 12, 2012.The Annual Christmas party was enjoyed by the members at St. Joseph's, Summit Hill.The guests were the Rev. Kenneth Medve and the Rev. James Burdess. The museum will be relocating in January to West Ludlow Street to the site of the former Jean McFadden's Store.Winter parkingChief Joseph Fittos Jr. of the Summit Hill Police Department has announced winter parking regulations in the borough that went into effect on Dec. 1.Under borough ordinance, all vehicles parked on East White Street, between Spruce and Pine streets, and all vehicles parked on West White Street, between Poplar and Coal streets, must be parked facing west. These rules will be enforced through March 31.In addition, borough law requires between Dec. 15 and March 15, all boats, trailers and campers must be off borough streets. Violators will be fined and the units will be towed off the streets at the owners' expense.Choir rehearsalSt. Joseph Catholic Church choir will rehearse on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. in the choir loft of the church. Robert Ames, director, will be in charge.Presbyterian ChurchThe Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, will hold its regular worship service on Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. The Sunday school will meet at 9 a.m. and an adult Bible study will take place at the same time.LansfordSt. John LutheranSt. John Lutheran Church, Lansford, will hold an informal worship tonight at 7 o'clock in the church. This will be a spiritual, peaceful evening service with Holy Communion. All are welcome to this relaxed, brief musical evening prayer.
