Quick action on the part of Lehighton volunteer firement prevented almost certain tragedy early this morning when fire gutted a section of the Weissport House Hotel at Bridge and White Streets, Weissport. Scaling ladders, firemen rescued a woman, her 4-year-old son, and an elderly, invalid man trapped on a second floor porch over-hanging the raging flames, and herded other ocupants of the four-story building to safety. Throwing every available piece of fire-fighting equipment into operation, the firemen confined the flames to the bar room section.
