Eldred home hit by fire again

Firefighters from two counties responded to a dwelling fire Wednesday morning in Eldred Township, Monroe County. The fire was reported ant 9 a.m. at an abandoned home along Correll Road about two miles north of Kunkletown Road. When emergency personnel arrived on scene they found a fire burning in the floor boards of a room in the rear of the two story wood frame structure. Kyle Frable, Kunkletown Fire Chief, reports it was the second fire at the home in as many years. The first fire was determined to be arson by a state police fire marshal. Frable believes this fire to be suspicious as well. The dwelling is in deplorable condition and is in a remote location where it cannot be seen from the roadway. Frable has called a state police fire marshal to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. Kunkletown and Lower Towamensing Township Fire Company of Aquashicola responded to the scene.
