Four inductees three individuals and one team will enter the Jim Thorpe Area Sports Hall of Fame next Saturday, Aug. 20, at their annual banquet.

Cocktail hour begins at 5 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. The induction ceremony will take place at 7:15 p.m. with entertainment following at 8:30 p.m.Dave BryfogleBryfogle, a 1963 graduate of Jim Thorpe, earned seven varsity letters in three different sports in high school.He was a member of both JT basketball teams that played for the state championships in 1962 and 1963. In 1962 the team won the state title and in 1963, when they finished runner-up, he was named Honorable Mention All-State.After graduating from West Chester State College, Dave entered the Navy where he spent the next 43 years. He continued his playing and coaching career in the Navy, playing for the Philippine All-Stars in 1969. He also played basketball for the Naval Forces in Japan in 1970 and 1971 where he was captain of the team and named All-Navy Honorable Mention.Tony RoosRoos graduated from Jim Thorpe in 1986 and starred in both basketball and baseball.After a successful start to his cage career in CYO, Roos excelled in high school where he totaled 1,087 points. That figure placed him 11th on JT's all-time scoring list.Tony was named MVP in basketball for the 1985 season and was a key member of the '86 squad, which advanced all the way to the PIAA Eastern Finals.In baseball, Roos was a member of championship teams in 1983 and 1984. In 1986 he was named MVP of the team after hitting .380 with five homers and compiling a 10-2 pitching record while striking out 70.After his playing days ended, Tony became an assistant baseball coach at Thorpe from 1998-2005.Jen FarrellFarrell graduated from Jim Thorpe in 2002, having earned four varisty letters in basketball.The Olympians' all-time scoring leader with 1,494 points also holds the career mark for three-pointers with 209.After a solid freshman season, Jen scored 351 points in her sophomore year and led the TIMES NEWS area with 57 three-pointers. In her junior campaign, she tallied 356 points and again led all TN players in treys with 60.Farrell concluded her JT career by netting 518 points in her senior season and leading her team to the district playoffs. She had a career-high 36 points in one contest and once again led the TIMES NEWS area with 62 threes.She went on to play for East Stroudsburg University for two years, lettering in her freshman year.2004 Football TeamThe 2004 Olympian football team, led by head coach Mark Rosenberger, finished the regular season with a perfect 10-0 record and became the first team in school history to post 10 wins in a season.The squad not only won the "209" Trophy and the P&B Trophy, but was also crowned the Anthracite 8 League champions.Thorpe reached the District 11 Class AAA playoffs but lost a heart-breaking 25-19 decision to Pottsville.The team outscored their opponents by a 426-74 margin and averaged 341.2 yards of offense while allowing just 134.6.Thirteen different players earned spots on all-star teams. Leading the way were Jason Figura (TIMES NEWS Player of the Year), Aaron Smith (First Team all-state defensive back), and Jacob Heydt (Second Team all-state offensive lineman).
