Bob Kuntz is a Chevy man.

It's not only that he has worked for 26 years at Rentschler Chevrolet, Slatington, where he is parts manager.It's the Camaros.Kuntz has five Chevrolets, three of them collectible Camaros.The 1969 coupe, painted "Olympic Gold" with black "hockey-stick stripes" along the sides, has rally wheels and a 350 automatic.He's owned it since 1990."Basically, that was in good condition. We repainted it. It wasn't a full restoration."Kuntz is a member of the Lehigh Valley Camaro Club, which organized the display of Camaros under a big tent at Das Awkscht Fescht, Aug. 5, 6 and 7, Macungie Memorial Park, Macungie.In keeping with the 100th anniversary of the Chevrolet, Camaro is featured car at the 48th annual classic, special interest and antique car show.Kuntz's 1969 Camaro coupe, painted "Daytona Yellow," is a 307 automatic.He also has a 1999 Camaro, painted "Hugger Orange," so-named for the car's road-handling capabilities. It's a six-cylinder automatic."They are both what I consider 'Plain Jane' Camaros. They're not a specialty edition, like an SS or Z-28," says Kurtz, a Slatington resident.He obtains parts for his Camaros from Shelly's Automobile Collision & Restoration Shop, Walnutport, which bills itself as having "the largest selection of 1967 - 1969 classic Camaro parts in the Lehigh Valley.""I always liked Camaros," Kuntz says. "I like the body style of the car and the looks of the car.""I bought my first one back in 1980."He sold it when he got married and used the proceeds for the wedding to his wife, Sharon.So, she was OK with his decision years later to purchase his Camaros."My wife enjoys it," he says of his hobby.His daily driver is a 2009 Malibu.His wife drives a 2009 Cobalt.Sharon Kuntz is a Chevy woman.
