The meeting of July 25 of the Panther Valley Golden Agers opened with a prayer, Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of God Bless America by the members.Names are still being taken for the indoor picnic to take place Monday, Aug. 22.On that same date, members celebrating birthdays in the months of April through December will be recognized.The next meeting will be Monday, Aug. 8 at St. Joseph's Hall, Summit Hill beginning at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 and older is welcome to become a member.PV Senior CenterThe list of activities for August has been announced for the Panther Valley Senior Center in Nesquehoning.Beginning Aug. 4, there will be pay bingo at 11 a.m.; Aug. 5 is penny game at 11 a.m.On Aug. 8, Deal or No Deal is at 11 a.m.; Aug. 9 there will be a van trip to Heritage Hill for bingo at 9:30 a.m.; Aug. 10 is candy bingo at 11 a.m.; Aug. 11 blood pressure readings will be taken from 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Aug. 12 is Family Feud at 11 a.m.On Aug. 15 there will be birthday celebrations and bingo at 11 a.m.; Aug. 16 there will be a speaker from Keystone Medical Equipment at 11 a.m.; On Aug. 17 is Black Jack at 11 a.m.; Aug. 18 is horse racing at 11 a.m.; Aug. 19 there will be shopping on the CCCT at 9:30 a.m.On Aug. 22 is Name that Tune at 11 a.m.; Aug. 23, shooting pool at 11 a.m.; Aug. 24, Scattergories at 11 a.m.; Aug. 25, darts at 11 a.m.; Aug. 26, bingo and pizza at 11 a.m.On Aug. 29 there will be bean bags at 11 a.m.; Aug. 30 penny game at 11 a.m.; Aug. 31 Mauch Chunk Lake picnic at 10 a.m.Sign up by 10 a.m. for the next day's meal.
