Dear Editor:

This letter is in response to the article in the Times News dated Wednesday July 20, 2011 regarding Tamaqua residents and their sudden mandate to connect to the Tamaqua Borough Inc.'s sewer line. A few thoughts came to mind while reading this article.Firstly, what I see happening not only in this local situation but in our entire country as well is people waking up to the fact that they've been voting for, depending on and sending their hard earned money to corporations posing as local, state and federal branches of government. If you don't believe me go to Dun and Bradstreet and look up Tamaqua Borough or any other alleged government entity including your local police department. You will see that they are listed as corporations.Then ask yourself, "What is the goal of any corporation?" Isn't it to make money? The difference between these corporations and say McDonald's is that these pseudo government corporations can make laws telling you what you can and can't do, they have the ability to tax you and if you don't comply with all of their frivolous rules and regulations they can fine and arrest you through a de facto court system.So because none of us care enough about our constitution nor dare to question authority, we work longer and harder hours to pay for these fictitious entities and then when something like the situation in Tamaqua comes up we go back to those who took our money and say can we please have some of our money back because we sent you almost everything we had and now we need to follow your mandate. Then the response comes of "Sorry but there's no more money left" which hits you over the head like a pipe wrench!And the last time I checked the 18th Title of the USC (the United States Inc.'s rule book), isn't receiving a statement in the mail asking you to pay for something you are not even receiving fraud? Especially when it is taken a step further and there is a threat to turn off services that you are led to believe you are getting but are not? I can completely empathize with the citizens of Tamaqua when they expect the council to act like a government and protect the rights of its citizens. Instead citizens are being abused and fined by unconstitutional corporate entities such as the PA DEP and the borough completely plays along.I don't even have to state this next fact because the citizens of Tamaqua already have but those interviewed unanimously stated that they didn't want to be dumping their waste into the local creek. Who would? So, how could this situation have been handled differently?Mr. Gursky, the borough president stated, "Our initial plan was to dye test the properties, but the test was much higher than we could afford as a borough." I haven't priced dye tests lately but if this was the case couldn't the borough have sent out letters stating that some residents may not be hooked up to the sewer line and may be polluting the creek leaving it up to the residents to do a little something for themselves? Or would that have cut off some of the revenue streams especially ones for which a service was not even being provided? Instead we wait for the mighty DEP to come swooping in and start making demands.Now another question. There are waterless toilets available that incinerate your waste. You can even sprinkle the remains on your garden. If you are fortunate enough to own one of these very environmentally friendly devices and you are recycling your gray water would you still be fined because you are not hooked up to the sewer line and hence cutting Tamaqua Borough Inc. out of some profits?And as always, I write these articles to not only share what I know with the citizens of this area but to challenge our elected leaders who take an oath to defend the US and Pa. state constitutions to get informed as well. Many of you oath takers, I am sure, are not even aware of how business as usual has been slowly eroding our country into a communist police state but it's time we all wake up and take action.In the grand scheme of things this is all part of Agenda 21 being run by the United Nations to kick us all out of our homes and move rural populations to selected major cities. Everybody should do the research because it has already taken shape in our local communities under things such as the BOCA codes and maneuvers like the aforementioned which, during tough economic times, are certain to deprive people of their property.Gene DuffyJim Thorpe
