State police at the Lehighton barracks were summoned July 24 at 5:25 a.m. to investigate a one-car crash on State Route 903, south of Hatchery Road, in Penn Forest Township.

Police did not reveal the identity of the driver but said a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was southbound on Route 903, about 66 feet south of Hatchery Road, when the operator fell asleep. The car traveled off the roadway, struck a small embankment and became stuck at the scene.Police said the driver will be cited.
