Tamaqua couple wed 61 years

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Snyder of 313 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, will celebrate their 61st wedding anniversary on July 29. They were married in Zion Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, by the late Rev. Charles Schlitzer.

Mrs. Snyder is the former Joan Schlosser. She is retired after working 25 years as the Tamaqua borough secretary.Her husband is a disabled veteran with over 16 years of service in the U.S. Army. Retired, he was last employed as plant superintendent at the former Diversified Metals Corp., Hometown.The couple has two daughters: Suzanne Blanchard of Gatesville, Texas; and Kim Kropp of Tamaqua. They also have three grandchildren: Christina Foeller in Alaska, Robert Foeller in Idaho and David Kotansky of Tamaqua; and two great grandchildren, Hannah and Myriah Foeller in Idaho.
