An employee of a credit union who admitted to embezzling more than $50,000 was one of four people who entered guilty pleas to criminal charges in the Schuylkill County Court and were sentenced by President Judge William E. Baldwin.

Jennifer Lee Doyle, 31, Saint Clair, pleaded guilty to a theft charge and was sentenced to serve six to 23 months in the county prison. The sentence is to begin Monday, Sept. 12, at 9 a,m.Doyle also was ordered to make restitution of $53,295,64 to CUNA Mutual Insurance Company and $5,000 to Hidden River Credit Union, Pottsville, where she was employed. Doyle was cited by Pottsville Capt. Richard Wojciechowsky.Wendell Alomza Armstrong, 38, Mahanoy City, was placed on probation for six months on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, pay a fine of $300, pay $100 to Substance Abuse Education (SAE) fund, and $50 to Criminal Justice Enhancement Account (CJEA). On a charge of failing to drive on the right side of road was fined $25 plus $50 costs. Armstrong was cited by Mahanoy City Patrolman Jonathan McHugh.Genarro David Delatorre, 26, Pottsville, was placed on probation for six months on a DUI charge, pay a fine of $300, pay $100 to the SAE fund, and $50 to CJE. On a charge of simple assault she has to serve an additional six months on probation and on charges of disorderly conduct was fined $150 and public drunkenness fined $50. Delatorre was cited by Trooper Roy Eiler in Ashland.Luiz B. Ramirez, 57, Shenandoah, was sentenced to serve 30 days in the county prison on a DUI charge beginning Friday, July 29, and when released to be placed in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for four years and 11 months, pay a fine of $1,500, pay $300 to SAE fund, $100 to Catastrophe fund, $60 to Schuylkill Medical Center, enroll in the alcohol highway safe driving school, complete outpatient treatment and driver's license suspended 18 months. Ramirez was cited by Mahanoy Township Patrolman Brandon Alexander.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation or parole.
