What is GriefShare?

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of individuals who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. You don't have to go through the grieving process alone.

GriefShare groups are designed so that you can begin attending on any week and meet with others in a similar situation. The seminars and support groups are led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. Valuable Griefshare resources will help you recover from your loss and look forward to rebuilding your life. The thirteen weeks of lessons are biblically based and nondenominational. They incorporate a DVD presentation and discussion time.Three to six months after the death of a loved one is considered an opportune time to enter the program, although that timeline is merely an observation, not a requirement."We share experiences," says Pastor Kevin Roberts, and the level of participation is entirely the decision of the participant. In Tamaqua, the average session includes about six participants. "About 100 or 150 have gone through," he says. The group meets at Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, East Broad Street, on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.More information is available at (570) 668-2520.
