Golden Agers

The meeting of the Panther Valley Golden Agers opened with a prayer by Mary Ann Stotelmyer, "Flag Day Prayer For Our Nation." God Bless America was sung by the group.A discussion about an indoor picnic was held among the members, with a possible day of having it in August. Anyone wishing to attend is asked to sign up at the upcoming meetings.The Hospitality Committee for July and August are Joanne Large and Fran Hager.Entertainment by Eileen Miser was enjoyed by all. She performed wearing 20 different hats while singing and playing on her keyboard.Bob Olney, the representative for the Prime Time Clubs, paid an annual visit and gave a short presentation.The next meeting will be June 27 at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hall, Summit Hill.Summit HillSt. Paul LutheranThe Rev. Robert Brueckner, a retired pastor from Nescopeck, will be the guest preacher at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, on Sunday, June 26. The service will begin at 10:30 a.m.on Sunday, July 3, the Rev. John W. Tomlinson, a retired pastor from Allentown, will lead the worship service. Congregation members are reminded the worship service during the months of July and August will begin at 9:30 a.m.There will be a brief congregational meeting following worship on July 3 to discuss the painting the church. All members are encouraged to attend.Methodist ChargeThe service schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, June 26, is as follows:Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church.The Rev. Burgess Gordon will officiate at both services.LansfordServer trainingA training session for youths interested in becoming alter servers at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will be held on Sunday, June 26, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the church.
