Tonight, England's Robin Trower makes a return to Penn's Peak in Jim Thorpe to promote his latest CD, "The Playful Heart."

Trower has been touring in the U.S. since January in the promotional tour.In a phone interview with Trower before a concert appearance in Albany, N.Y., Trower said the new CD has been very well received. He said although he'll be doing a lot of his 70s songs, he will be singing some of cuts from "The Playful Heart."Trower has been making records since the mid 60s when he was the guitarist with Procol Harum. In the early 70s, he formed the Robin Trower Band.When not performing, Trower said he spends a lot of his off-time writing songs. He also enjoys watching soccer.Asked about radio stations not picking up his newest songs, he said, "I don't event bother to try with them. I have a Web site (www.trowerpower.com)." He noted the songs from the LP can be head on the site.Trower said he doesn't know what he'd be doing if he wasn't touring and playing professionally. "It would be something with music," he said. "I think (music) seems to come natural to me."He also admitted that he enjoys painting. Many of the album covers are painted by him.He said that for the covers, he tries to paint something that depicts the songs that are on the respective album.The Hampshire, England resident said he has had some very rewarding moments in music.He said, "When somebody comes up to you and says, 'I was in Vietnam and your music has saved my life,' that's something you don't forget. I assume he meant that it got him through some hard times."Trower said he's looking forward to returning to Penn's Peak.Asked what his fans can anticipate, he said they know all about him and what to expect.(Robin Trower at Penn's Peak, 8 p.m. this evening.
