Selected for summer internship in N. Mexico

Chelsea Knipper of Coaldale, a senior at Pennsylvania State University, has been selected for a summer internship at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, New Mexico. Knipper, who is majoring in physics at the university, will be working with the International Threat Reduction Group, which leads the development of nuclear monitoring and physical security systems and technology to reduce the threat of global nuclear proliferation to protect national security. Knipper was selected for this prestigious honor as the result of her outstanding academic performance, and upon the recommendations of the Physics Department professors.

She is the daughter of Randee and the late Jack Knipper. Her paternal grandparents are the late Anne Knipper and John Knipper of Coaldale. Her maternal grandparents are Lois Butts Rilo of Lake Hauto and the late Robert Butts.Knipper is a graduate of Panther Valley High School.
