Named to dean's list at Muhlenberg College

Erin R. Litsch has been named to the dean's list for the Fall 2010 and Spring 2011 semesters of her sophomore year at Muhlenberg College, Allentown.

She is the daughter of George and Diane Litsch, Tamaqua and the granddaughter of Marian LaBella, Tamaqua and Sadie Litsch,Mahanoy City.She is majoring in English, minoring in art history and is part of the Secondary Education Certification Program.This year, Erin was chosen to become a member of the Alpha Epsilon chapter of the Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society. This is a national honor society which recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and who hold leadership positions that positively impact their campus community.Erin was also chosen to become a Lead Tutor at Muhlenberg's writing center where she is a writing assistant for first year seminars, drop-in center tutor and writing mentor for students with special learning needs. She will work with her fellow tutors and faculty to improve the center and will oversee the more than sixty tutors in the program.This past spring, Erin submitted a research proposal to the National Conference of Tutors of Writing and her project was chosen from entries from colleges and universities throughout the country to be presented at the 2011 conference. Erin will travel to Florida International University in Miami in November to present her research project in an individual presentation to her fellow tutors, college faculty members and leading writing practice theorists.Erin is also a peer notetaker for students with special learning needs, a member of the Muhlenberg Activities Council, the Education Society and the Muhlenberg chapter of Habitat for Humanity.She is a 2009 graduate of Marian Catholic High School.
