Monroe driver facing DUI count

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI), following an incident that occurred about 2:06 a.m. on May 22 along SR61. It was one of two arrests made at traffic stops.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said officers were on patrol at the time and date stated in Mt. Pocono and southbound when they observed a vehicle exit the lot at Burks Tavern. The officers had to apply the brakes on their cruiser to avoid a collison as the vehicle pulled in their path.A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Aubrey Ellisor, 27, of Tobyhanna. She was found to be under the influence and failed field sobriety tests. She was then taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test. The DUI charge is pending the test results, police said.The second incident occurred about 10:13 p.m. on May 21 along SR940 in Pocono Lake. At the time and date stated officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Marisa Desantis, 27, of Belleville, N.J.A further investigation revealed that Desantis had in her possession vicodin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Both the vicodin and marijuana were packaged consistent with street level drug sales, police said.Desantis was taken into custody and placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal use of a communication facility.
