Kristen Amanda Romano, a senior at Palmerton Area High School, was honored by the Concourse Club of Palmerton as a 2011 Guiding Star for the month of April.

Kristen is the daughter of William and Kathy Romano of Norman Drive, Lehighton. She has a brother, Anthony. She is active in the Palmerton Leo Club and is treasurer of the Environmental Club, FBLA, Student Council, vice president of the National Honor Society, and is involved in the Gifted Program.Kristen is also involved in cross country, basketball and track and field captain. She helps with the Black Bear Triathlon and the Lehigh Marathon. She enjoys reading, drawing, and spending time with her family and friends.She enjoys science, traveling, and being adventurous. She is talented in running track, hurdling and basketball.She intends to attend Lock Haven University to study to become a physician's assistant.
