Pfc. Kirk F. Schonstine, 21, son of Fred and Jane Schonstine, Columbia Avenue, Palmerton, is one of more than 1,000 American soldiers serving with the Multinational Force and Observers, an 11-nation military and civilian organization that is monitoring peace between Egypt and Israel. "At first I didn't want to go over to the Sinai," said Schonstine, a 1982 graduate of Palmerton Area High School. "But when I thought more about it, it sounded good, because I figured I would never get another chance to get to the Sinai again."
