ALLENTOWN - Was it that Scranton/Wilkes-Barre got some real good pitching, or have the Lehigh Valley IronPigs lost their hitting touch?

The Phillies AAA affiliate was sort of glad to get on the bus and head to Buffalo after suffering a 3-0 shutout, the second in a row, to the Yankees at Coca-Cola Park. Over the past two nights, the IronPigs have now put together 20 scoreless innings in a row and have dropped to 7-7, two games behind the division leader."They hit the ball, they made timely hits, they made defensive plays," said IronPigs manager Ryne Sandberg afterwards. "QWe just seemed to come up short."The Yankees got to IronPigs starter Eddie Bonine in the first inning as Kevin Russo tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jesus Montero.In the fourth inning Jordan Parraz found the gap in left-center to score Chris Dickerson for a 2-0 lead.The Yankees added an insurance run in the fifth when Greg Golson hit a one-out triple and scored on a single by Kevin Russo that got by Ronnie Belliard down the third base line."Bonine wasn't at his best," Sandberg added. "He was working some long counts and his pitch count got up in a hurry."What I'm hoping for is that we caught some fire on the road last time so I'm hoping for the sam."The IronPigs loaded the bases in the first, but once again, failed to get a run across."It felt like a good situation," said Sandberg. "A left handed pitcher (Kei Igawa) against a left handed bat and we came up empty handed. After the trip to Buffalo, the IronPigs return home on Tuesday for a Ryne Sandberg Bobblehead Givaway night against Pawtucket.
