Beginning Tuesday, Carbon County gardeners, farmers or anyone who has a question about anything plants can call a helpline, operated by the Penn State Extension - Carbon County Master Gardener Program.

Members of the group will be on-hand from 10 a.m. to noon every Tuesday, on the "Greenline," a telephone helpline that provides answer to questions about gardening, pests and pesticides, plant disease and more.Maryann Serafini, Master Gardener volunteer, explained the group decided to create the Greenline because there was a need for it in Carbon County.She added that this program will help bring volunteers together with gardeners who have questions and can't find the answer.No question is too small, she noted.In some cases, the group may ask for samples of the plants, soil or pests so further testing could be completed before an answer could be found.Serafini added that a person can call in at other times of the week, when the helpline is not open, and leave a message.
