A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 5:40 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, along State Road near Orchard Road, in Ryan Township.

State police at Frackville said James Morgans, 60, of Delano, was eastbound in a 1994 Toyota Corolla when he lost control while coming out of a slight left curve. The car crossed over the westbound lane and onto the berm where it climbed an embankment.The car then re-entered the road and traveled south until the passenger side rear made impact with an embankment which caused it to overturn. The car came to rest facing north on its roof in a field, troopers said.Morgans was found to be under the influence, troopers said. He was transported to St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale, for treatment of injuries. The DUI charge is pending blood test results, troopers added.
