A New Jersey resident was arrested this week in Monroe County on various drug selling charges.

Pocono Mountain Regional police identified the man as Adrian Young, 32, of Patterson.Police said Young's arrest was part of an ongoing investigation of drug trafficking in the area which indicated that he was involved. The investigation indicated that Young would purchase bulk quantities of controlled substances in Patterson and come to the Poconos with them.Police said they intercepted a communication that indicated Young would be traveling to Monroe County to deliver about 30 grams of crack cocaine and an additional 40 bags of powder cocaine. On Thursday, Feb. 24, through an undercover operation, Young was observed arriving at the Joe's Kwik Mart parking lot to deliver the large quantity of narcotics and was taken into custody.A search revealed that Young was concealing a large knotted baggie of cocaine inside his shoe. The baggie contained one large knotted baggie with about 30 grams of crack cocaine and one large chunk. There were four other knotted baggies also located in the outermost bag which each contained an additional 10 dime size baggies of powder cocaine, totaling 40 dime size bags of powder cocaine.The crack and powder cocaine would have a street value of $10,000 in the area, police said. Young was also found to have $384 in U.S. currency on his person.At the time of the arrest Young was operating a rental vehicle. The vehicle was rented by the brother of Young's girlfriend. She was present in the vehicle along wtih her two daughters, ages five and two, police added.Young was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance-crack and powder cocaine, criminal use of a communication device, possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment, police said.
