SHHS to meetThe Summit Hill Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting tonight at 7 o'clock in the museum on Ludlow Street. Lee Mantz, president, will be in charge of the session.The agenda will include correspondence from William Roulette First Lady Cleveland's Parasol visit; and Michael Gallagher 1935 Boy Scouts.Discussions will include topics of tinting for the museum windows, the society's newsletter, license plates and various fundraisers.Future meetings of the society will take place on March 16, April 20 and May 18.Jeffersonians to meetThe monthly meeting of the Jeffersonian Democratic Club of Summit Hill will be held on Thursday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. in the borough hall. Nathan Halenar, president, will be in charge. Memberships for 2011 will be accepted at this time and plans for the Primary Election on May 17 will be discussed.Choir rehearsalsBob Ames, choir director for St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, has announced the schedule of upcoming rehearsals as follows: Thursdays, Feb. 17 and 24, 7 p.m.; Thursday, March 3, 7 p.m.; and Wednesday, March 9, following the Ash Wednesday Mass.The rehearsals are in anticipation of the upcoming Confirmation Mass to be held in the church on Tuesday, March 15, at 4:30 p.m. with His Excellency, Bishop John Barres, presiding.St. Paul LutheranThe

D.O.C.S. of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, will meet tonight at 7 o'clock in the church.LansfordBloodmobile plannedSt. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, will sponsor a visit of the Miller-Keystone Bloodmobile on Monday, Feb. 21, in the church hall. The event is being held in memory of Joseph Pampanin of Summit Hill, retired state policeman and Carbon County detective.The bloodmobile will be set up for donations between noon and 6:30 p.m.To schedule a donation time, contact coordinator John Karnish, (570) 645-3993. Walk-ins will also be welcomed.Food pantryThe Lansford Food Pantry will be held on Monday, Feb. 21 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 104East Abbott St., Lansford. The food pantry is held on the third Monday of each month and serves the residents of Lansford who meet the income guidelines.The food pantry is a nonprofit organization run by volunteers of the community.Food items are purchased by state and federal funding and from donations from the local businesses and residents, which have been decreasing over the past few years.Anyone wishing to make a monetary or food donation or would like more information about the program can contact Betty Pearson(570) 645-3416 or Richard Willing (570) 657-6159.The food pantry is in desperate need of your help, especially with the cold winter days we are experiencing.
