Hit and run driver sought in Monroe

A hit-and-run driver is being sought in Monroe County. The accident is one of two reported on by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said Tammy R. Mokshefski, 45, of Blakeslee, was in the southbound lane of SR115, at the intersection with State Road, in Chestnuthill Township, about 10:45 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 10, while another vehicle was alongside her vehicle in the left turn lane. Both were stopped for a red traffic light.When the light turned green Mokshefski began to travel south when the driver of the vehicle next to her made a right turn from the left turn lane and struck her vehicle. After impact the other driver fled the scene.Mokshefski attempted to follow the other vehicle to get a license number, but could not, troopers said. Mokshefski was not injured.The hit and run vehicle is described as being a beige or brown colored Chrysler with New Jersey registration plate.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at (570) 646-2271.The second crash occurred along Interstate 80 in Kidder Township, Carbon County. Troopers said John Henry Walker, of Michigan, was driving a tractor trailer rig for J&B Leasing Inc., of Toledo, Ohio, eastbound when he lost control. The rig traveled through the guide rails and crashed into the median, where it came to rest.Walker was not injured. The tractor had to be towed from the scene.
