That project will take place on Saturday, Jan. 8, beginning at 10 a.m.A meeting of St. Paul's confirmation class is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 23, at 6:30 p.m.Members are reminded that financial reports for the annual congregation report are due by Feb. 6.Article publishedA literary item by Gary Blake, a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, has been selected to appear in "The Lutheran," the national publication of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.Blake submitted the article for consideration to be published in the "Favorite Bible verses" section of the January edition of the magazine.In the article, he selected 2 Corinthians 3:6 (Our competence is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life."Blake is quoted in the article, "Having gone from Roman Catholic to charismatic (neo-Pentecostal) to Lutheran, I can say that I've been on a pendulum from the letter side of the law to the spirit side of the law and back again. Each time I told myself I wouldn't become judgmental. Yet, I'd again find myself judging others by the letter of the law, not the spirit of the law. Though I'm a Lutheran by choice, I'm a Christian by God's will and the love of Christ. This verse always brings me back to God's balanced view."Seeking membersThe Summit Hill Heritage Center, 1 W.
