Schuylkill Bicentennial Music Festival Saturday

The Schuylkill County Council for the Arts' Bicentennial Music and Ethnic Festival called "Celebrate Us, Celebrate Schuylkill" will be held Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. at the Arts and Cultural Center located at 1440 Mahantango Street in Pottsville.

Members of the Tamaqua Historical Society will also be participating in the festival."This music festival is geared towards all ages, and is something worth enjoying," said Dale Freudenberger, president of the Tamaqua Historical Society.The festival, being held in conjunction with Schuylkill County's 200th Celebration, will consist of ethnic foods, drinks, theatre, dancers, music, instrumentals, drawings, artworks and exhibits in the gardens of the historic Yuengling Mansion.Cost is $10/single, $15/couple, $8/student and $5/child.Entertainment Schedule:12:00-12:40 p.m. - Upper Schuylkill Band,12:45-1:05 p.m. - Welsh Singers,1:10-1:25 p.m. - Welsh Scottish English Music,1:30-1:45 p.m. - Kim Russell Seibert Ensemble,1:50-2:05 p.m. - Irish Step Dancers,2:10-2:50 p.m. - Rick Lorady and TJ Fitzpatrick,2:55-3:20 p.m. - Lester Hirsh and Kathleen Radspinner,3:25-3:50 p.m. - Gospel and RNB,4:00-4:25 p.m. - Special Guest Jazz Sax,4:30-4:50 p.m. - Native American Indian Dave McSurdy,5:00-5:10 p.m. - Porcupine Pat,5:15-5:45 p.m. - Italian D'Lite Side,5:50-6:15 p.m. - Gintaras Lithuanian Dancers,6:20-6:40 p.m. - Byzantine Choir.
