Children's books being collected

Published October 13. 2011 05:01PM

The Northeast Regional Key and the LEARN coordinators in the Northeast region are collecting new and delicately used books for children, from infant to school-age, to be given to child care programs and families who were hit by the recent floods.

In Carbon County, books can be dropped off at the Jim Thorpe Area School District Administration Building, 410 Center Ave., Jim Thorpe, during office hours

Evalynn Kuehner, Carbon County LEARN coordinator, said that the collection was originally slated to end on Oct. 14, but the center will still accept books over the next few weeks.

For more information or if you cannot make it to the drop off site but would like to donate books, call Kuehner at (570) 325-2771.
