Published June 11. 2011 09:01AM

The Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Museum Association will celebrate the 9th Annual Pennsylvania Fly Fishing Heritage Day, Saturday, June 18, at the historic Allenberry Resort Inn in Boiling Springs. Heritage Day commemorates the rich history of fly fishing in the Commonwealth from Colonial times to the present day.

Among the attractions will be "The Colonial Angler," Ken Reinard, who will demonstrate and discuss fly fishing as our ancestors did it in the 1700s. Transition to the current day, when today's experts and legends Bob Clouser, Ed Jaworowski and others will demonstrate fly casting with 21st Century rods and lines.

Learn the "lost art" of wet fly fishing from expert angler and guide Dave Allbaugh, as well as techniques for fly fishing the legendary Delaware River from Paul Weamer. A special presentation by fly fishing guides Tom Baltz, Brian Shumaker and Gene Giza will discuss the "Trials and Tribulations of Professional Guides."

All registered attendees will receive a commemorative Heritage Day button featuring the Black Gnat fly developed by Pennsylvania legend Jim Leisenring.
