Lansford police have a lead on the persons responsible for pulling three parking meters out of the ground in the area of 120 W. Ridge Street early in the morning of May 25.

Det./Sgt. Jack Soberick said the meters were dragged across the street and left in a vacant lot. The heads of another four meters were smashed and whatever money was in them stolen.

What the vandals didn't know was that they were being videotaped during the crime, which happened at about 1:40 a.m. that morning, he said.

"We believe we know who at least one of them is," Soberick said.

The video shows a male pushing and pulling the meters to get them out of the ground.
