Lansford man facing DUI count

A Lansford man has been cited by Tamaqua police following a traffic stop on May 26.

Patrolman Charles Blesse was on patrol at 8:13 p.m. when he received a call about an erratic driver traveling east on Broad Street. The suspect vehicle was a black Mazda Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV), which Blesse observed in the area of Broad and Patterson sts. The SUV left its normal lane of travel and almost struck a parked car before the officer could initiate a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Neil Brian Kennedy, 55, of 10 W. Bertsch St.Kennedy exhibited several signs of possible intoxication and agreed to attempt field sobriety tests. He failed the first test and told the officer he would be unable to perform the other two.He was transported to St. Luke's Miners Hospital, Coaldale, for blood tests, which he then refused.
