Theresa Devaney marries Eric Schaffer

Eric Paul Schaffer and Theresa Elizabeth Devaney were united in marriage on May 14, 2011 at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Plains. The Rev. Joseph Greskiewicz performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Joseph and Carol Devaney of Bloomsburg. The bridegroom is the son of William and Christine Schaffer of Lehighton.The bride carried an assorted arrangement of pink roses while escorted down the aisle by her father.She chose her best friend, Natalie Austin as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Patricia Gray, Amanda Engles, Sunnylee Mowery, Danielle Crouse, and her cousin, Kathryn Secor. The flower girl was Isabella Devaney, the bride's niece.The best man was William Gross. The groomsmen were Ronald Knoble, David Coin, Gabe Neidig, and the bride's brothers Michael Devaney and Joseph Devaney. The bridegroom's nephew, Logan Schaffer, was the ring bearer.Scripture was read by Carolyn Stauss, sister of the bride, and Anastasia Serdensky, cousin of the bride. Katie Albertson served as the guest book attendant. Samantha and Mathew Cullen, niece and nephew of the bride, were greeters. Gina Macaravage was the organist and Jason Kozeshko played the trumpet.The wedding reception was held at Genetti's in Wilkes-Barre. The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas.The new Mrs. Schaffer is a graduate of Central Columbia High School. She earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice at Shippensburg University. She is employed by Domestic Violence Service Center as a legal advocate.Mr. Schaffer is a graduate of Lehighton Area High School. He is employed as a computer technician at PPL and a network administrator for the Law Offices of Attorney William G. Schwab and Associates.The newlyweds reside in Plains Township.
