Mahoning Township Police Chief Kenneth Barnes has released information on several recent incidents that occurred at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Trespassing: On Dec. 15 at about 5:45 p.m., police were called to the store. Loss prevention agents told police that Brian S. McGee, 28, of Lauchnor Road, Lehighton, was being detained for a trespassing offense. The loss prevention employees said McGee had been previously barred from the property. McGee has been charged with defiant trespass via citation.Retail Theft: On Dec. 18 at 3:21 p.m., police were called to the store for a report that loss prevention agents had a male in custody for retail theft. A 17-year old male from South Avenue, Jim Thorpe, allegedly attempted to leave the store with a box of condoms without paying for the merchandise. The juvenile has been charged with retail theft via citation.Theft of Purse: On Dec. 20 at 9:34 a.m., a 40-year old female resident of Taft Avenue, Allentown, reported to police that she was shopping in the store. She was in the vacuum aisle and had left her purse unattended for a few moments and it was stolen. About $40 in cash, credit cards and other miscellaneous property was in the purse.Retail Theft: On Dec. 20 at about 1:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the store for a report that loss prevention agents had a female in custody for retail theft and for violating a previously issued no trespass order/notice. Katrina Marie Vandling, 21, of the 400 block of Maxine Drive Lehighton, (Franklin Township), was arrested for allegedly attempting to leave the store with $46.83 worth of merchandise without paying for it. She is being charged via criminal complaint summons with retail theft and defiant trespass.
