Luzerne driver facing charges

A Luzerne County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and other criminal counts following a traffic stop in Schuylkill County.

State police at Frackville said Roberto Alvarez-Marquez, 22, of Hazleton, was stopped about 3:05 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, along SR924 in Frackville for a traffic violation.He was found to be under the influence and was taken to the barracks for a breath test. The test revealed he was over the legal limit of .08 percent alcohol/blood content, troopers said.Also, Alvarez-Marquez was found to have a small amount of suspected cocaine on him. A routine check of his name revealed he was also a wanted person by Hazleton city police for aggravated assault.He was taken into custody and later turned over to Hazleton police, troopers said.
