Four first time offenders in the criminal justice system were placed in Carbon County's Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition (ARD) probation program on Monday by Senior Judge Richard W. Webb.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program or are revoked from it, the Commonwealth reserves the right to prosecute them on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.Those placed included:Natasha Lee Bradley, 26, of Pottsville, was placed for a year on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI). She was arrested on June 19 along SR903 in Penn Forest Township. Given a test, the result was .15BAC.Webb ordered she pay $400 for the program, get a drug and alcohol (D&A) evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment and her license was suspended for 30 days.Devin W. Graver, 19, of Lehighton, was placed for a year on a DUI charge. He was arrested on April 10 along SR2015 in Franklin Township. Given a test, the result was .13BAC.He was ordered to pay $400 for the program, get a D&A evaluation and his license was suspended for 90 days.Samantha L. Griffith, 20, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of simple assault. She was arrested on Aug. 22 by Lehighton police for an incident along Coal St. in which Zachariah Dieter is the listed victim.She was ordered to pay $350 for the program and render 15 hours of community service.Dianne L. Lutz, 41, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a charge of retail theft. She was arrested on April 8 at the Wal-Mart store in Mahoning Township. She was charged with allegedly taking $64.39 worth of merchandise without paying for it.She was ordered to pay $350 and costs and render 15 hours of community service.Each defendant must also pay court costs and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program.
