WILKES-BARRE, PA - On Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11, members of the military, active duty or retired, can show their military I.D. and receive a free Egg Muffin Melt breakfast sandwich from any participating SUBWAY® restaurant in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. All they need to do is go to a SUBWAY® restaurant before 11 a.m. and decide which cheese, vegetables and sauce to put on their free Egg Muffin Melt.

SUBWAY® restaurants have partnered with America's Egg Farmers to donate up to 20,000 eggs to food banks throughout Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania. This week, Nov. 7-13, for every breakfast sandwich ordered at SUBWAY® restaurants, America's Egg Farmers will donate one egg to area food banks in cooperation with SUBWAY® restaurants."America's Egg Farmers are committed to giving back to the community, and have donated more than 28 million eggs to food banks and charities across the nation since 2009," said Joanne Ivy, president and CEO of the American Egg Board.The three food banks that will receive donations are: Central Pennsylvania Food Bank; Weinberg Food Bank; and Second Harvest Food Bank. Jointly they will distribute eggs to 18 Pennsylvania counties.Michael's Foods of Minnetonka, MN will be donating the eggs to the three food banks."We are proud to be able to donate eggs in support of the Good Egg Project," said Tom Schuneman, vice president of Foodservice Sales at Michael Foods, Inc.
