Three area residents among seven to be resentenced

Three area residents were among seven who had their probation or parole revoked by Schuylkill County judges on petitions filed by their probation officers who claimed they violated terms fixed by the court.

Larry L. Wagner Jr., 30, of 300 1/2 Arlington St., Tamaqua, had his probation revoked by Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin and 205 days of liberty were taken away and added to his sentence to create a new maximum date for release at March 11, 2012. He was committed to the county prison and is not eligible to be re-paroled before March 30, 2011.On charges of recklessly endangering another peson, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia he received a sentence of 12 months probation to run concurrent. Wagner entered a guilty pleas to the charges last February and after serving four days in prison was released on probation. He was orginally cited by SGT. John Kaczmarczyk, Mahanoy City Police, in November 2008.George R. Skidmore Jr., 49, of 418 Water St., Coaldale, had his parole revoked by President Judge William E. Baldwin and he was recommitted to the county prison to serve a period of incarceration of three months. Skidmore had pleaded guilty in August 2008 to charges of drivng under the influence (DUI) of alcohol and after serving 90 days in prison was released on probation for five years. He was originally cited by Patrolman Ryan Boorstein, Coaldale police, in February 2007.Ryan Navitsky, 32,of 252 Brown St., Tamaqua, was removed from a special probation program by Judge Dolbin who had placed him in the Intermediate Punishment Program (IPP) for six months on probaton after he pleaded guilty to DUI. Navitsky was re-sentenced to serve three to six months in the county prison with credit for having served 41 days.On a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia he has to serve an additional six months on probation when released from prison. Navitsky was orginally cited by Cpl. Duane Frederick, Rush Township police, when stopped on Marion Avenue in November 2009. He entered the guilty pleas to the DUI charge last May.Sarah B. Wytovich, 24, Ashland, had her parole revoked by Judge Dolbin and her 159 days of liberty were dissallowed but was given a second chance by being immediately paroled with the understanding she shall undergo drug and alcohol treatment and/or mental health counseling. The new maximum date of the end of her sentence was moved to March 26, 2011.Wytovich had pleaded guilty last March to DUI and after spending 48 hours in the county prison was placed on parole for six months. She was originally cited by Patrolman Raymond Horan, Butler Township police, when stopped in May 2009.Kyle Long, Minersville, had his probation revoked by Judge Dolbin with loss of liberty of 242 days, creating a new maximum date of release on Jan. 14, 2012. He was re-sentenced to serve two to 23 months in the county prison and submit to drug and alcohol evaluation. He had pleaded guilty to charges of recklessly endangering other person and several motor vehicle code violations. He was originally cited by Patrolman Jeffrey R. Bowers, Minersville police, in February 2007.Christopher James Harper, 22, Pottsville, had his probation revoked by Judge Baldwin and he was re-sentenced on a charge of disorderly conduct to serve five to 12 months in the county prison and is eligible for work release. He had pleaded guilty to the charge in August 2009 and was placed on probation. He was originally cited by Patrolman Eugene M. Yourey, Pottsville police, in February 2009.Jeffrey Allen Verbash, 46, Frackville, had his probation revoked by Judge Dolbin and he was recommitted to the county prison to serve out his original sentence of nine to 23 months. He is not eligible to apply for re-parole for three months. He will be allowed to participate in the prison's Vocational Rehabilitation Program if he qualifies. Verbash pleaded guilty to retail theft in September 2009.
