azubek@tnonline.comToday is Saturday, Aug. 21, the 233rd day of the year.Today is significant to many for various reasons.In 1878, the American Bar Association was founded.In 1911, Leonardo da Vinci's painting, "Mona Lisa" was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris.In 1959, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed an executive order making Hawaii the 50th state.And in 2010, today is significant for me because today I marry my best friend.Bob and I met through work here at the TIMES NEWS in 2004 when I was an intern and he was a new employee. Our friendship eventually blossomed into a relationship in June 2007.After two years of dating, he popped the question at sunset on the beach in Ocean City, Md.Since then, it has been a whirlwind adventure planning for our nuptials, from the cake testing to the dress design to the reception venue and more.For the most part, everything fell into place rather smoothly. I'm not going to say there weren't bumps in the road because there were, but overall, these last few months planning for today have been rather enjoyable. Friends and family helped where help was needed and I thank them for that. Without their love and support, I probably would have gone crazy and crazy is not a good look for any bride.But all the planning, all the preparation, all the times with my girlfriends and family putting everything together is now done and by the time you read this, I will be getting ready to walk with my father down the aisle of St. Joseph's Church to become the new Mrs. Robert Miller.In the next few hours, my life as I knew it will change forever and I will begin a new chapter one that I have dreamed about since I was a little girl dancing around the room with an invisible groom.There is one thing that I hope for in our marriage, and that is that we are as happy together as our parents.Both my parents, Joe and Mary Zubek, and Bob's parents, Bob and Bonnie Miller, have been happily married for decades my parents will soon be married 35 years and Bob's parents will be married 43 years later this year.I want to thank them for being so loving and supportive of both Bob and I throughout our lives. If it wasn't for them, we would not have grown to be the people we are today, both as individuals and as a couple.Thank you and I look forward to many years of happiness as one, big, happy family!And Bob, darling, this is for you.
